Early Thursday morning, Heritage hosted a breakfast event sponsored by The Washington Examiner, where senators Ben Sasse (R-NE) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) sat down with the Examiner’s commentary editor Tim Carney for one-on-one interviews. They each discussed their perspectives on the Trump Administration’s positions on trade, and potential plans to renegotiate key international trade deals.
Both senators have vital positions in planning trade policy. Sen. Sasse chairs the Senate Banking subcommittee that focuses on international trade, and Sen. Manchin sits on the Senate Committee for Appropriations that handles discretionary spending and commerce.
How do you think the Trump administration should handle trade policy moving forward?
