Heritage takes its mission to preserve conservative principles very seriously. In order to do that, it’s vital to make sure we understand what those underlying principles and definitions of conservatism really are.
Last Wednesday night, Heritage Foundation scholar Dr. Lee Edwards sat down with several leading minds in conservative thought, and led a far-reaching discussion on what conservatism is, how it should learn from its past, and how to help it survive in a quickly changing world.
The panelists included Rod Dreher, author of The Benedict Option and senior editor of The American Conservative; Dr. Brad Birzer, professor at Hillsdale College, author of Russell Kirk: American Conservative and many other conservative biographies, and co-founder and senior contributor to The American Conservative; and Robert Merry, journalist, author, and editor of The American Conservative.
